Hello,
I wrote a web application, that works great with a server under Tomcat
6.0.13 and client with Windows XP OS, in which user has to upload (text)
files that are read and exploited.
I tried this application (on a client machine) under Windows 7 and it works
with uploaded files around 5-6 kb but if I try to upload a file around 60
kb, it doesn't work anymore and the "localhost. .log" trace file
I moved to Windows 7 and I'm wondering whether it would be appropriate
to install the 64bit server or say with the
32bit version.
What implications would it have? Memory footprint? Would I have to run
two JVM? a 64 bits and a 32bit (when running other apps
like OpenOffice?)

The following experience may be interesting for installation of Tomcat
apache-tomcat-6.0.29.exe on a Windows XP (32 Bit) system and there were
no problems. Then I installed the same combination on a Windows 7 (64
Bit) System, but Tomcat didn’t start, in the log there was the message:
javajni.c] [error] %1 is not a valid Win32 application.
I made some experiments and copied the Tomcat directory
Hi,
i need to setup CATALINA_OPTS environment variable under windows 7.
I read that in directory *tomcatDir/bin/* should be a file named setenv.bat
for Windows in which i could define the CATALINA_OPTS environment variable.
However after a fresh installation of Tomcat 7.0.33 i discovered that such
file doesn't exist.
is it normal ?
can i just create it ?
what should i take care to make it correctly
Hi,
let's say, I want to deploy a webapp using cometD, but I need to run it on tomcat (7). Right now, what do I have to expect?
Can I run my cometD app with tomcat? As I've read, cometD uses some special type of WebsocketTransportProtocol which only works for Jetty.
So does this mean, my app would work like it would on jetty, the only thing I can't use is websockets? What about OOrt?
I guess this
Good Afternoon:
I am running Windows server 2008 with Oracle/Sun jdk 1.6u24 and Tomcat 7.0.8.
Windows server 2008 multicast is defaulted on. I am attempting to set up a
cluster (config that currenly works in Windows server 2000 and tomcat 6), and
getting the exception listed below. I haven't been able to find a
configuration change from Tomcat 6 to 7 that might be causing this error. I
have included
We have a newly installed Tomcat 7 64bit in Windows 7 (quad-core w/8gb
ram, 322GB free disk space)
We copied the msvcr71.dll into the bin directory, and have Java

Tomcat doesn't start, and all we get from it is:
Service 'tomcat7' is missing the ImageFile
None of the normal Tomcat logs are written even with debug set on, so
it's clear the basics of Tomcat can't seem to
I want to use Java 7 features in Servlets with Tomcat 7. I have tried
unsuccessfully to deploy Tomcat 7 with Java 7. I also tried compile
Tomcat 7 with Java 7 and failed as well. It is likely that I am doing
something wrong. I want to deploy in Windows XP. I haven't found any
news confirming that this is possible. I have noticed some entries of
startup speeds of Tomcat 7 under Java 7. Has anyone successfully
I have a custom realm that is quite complex and uses a variety of third party libraries, including Spring. =A0In Tomcat 5.5, I placed the Realm and all of the JARs it depended upon in the server/lib directory. =A0This kept these classes in the Catalina class loader, which was not visible to any web applications. =A0This was the perfect solution since I do not want to automatically include all of these
Does the precompiled windows binary work on win 7 64?
My system is a laptop running windows 7 professional 64 bit.
I downloaded tomcat 7.0.12 64 bit version for windows 7. After installation I tried several of the sample servlets and jsps. All the tests worked as expected.
When I attempt to build my application which used to build and run with no problems under tomcat 6 I receive the following errors.
C:\barry\hockey3>ant install

Hi,
I found that I can't use service.bat to install tomcat as a service on
Windows 7. However tomcat's Windows EXE installer still works
successfully. I tried both 6.0.24 and 6.0.26.
Do you know if there is a fix to service.bat? I want to install our web
applications as a Service, so I can't just use the default tomcat EXE
installer.
Thanks.

Hi,
I am currently struggling with a following problem:
The system I use (Alfresco) provides a serverside javascript debugger.
It's a Swing based window. I managed to run it under linux (when tomcat

With jdk1.6.0 and tomcat 6.0.10 ssl works great on windows 7 or windows 2008 R1 .
Server.xml ssl fragment
When you replace tomcat 6.0.10 with tomcat 6.0.24 tomcat does not produce logs or connect.
Any suggestions? Is there some new setting or procedure with 6.0.24?

Hi Team,
Using this method
getServletContext().getRealPath("/")
returns '\' at the end when I run my project in Tomcat 7 whereas it is not
working as such in Tomcat 8.
For example,
In Tomcat 7 it returns as "D:\Tomcat\webapps\project\"
In Tomcat 8 it returns as "D:\Tomcat\webapps\project"
At present the project is in production so, I am unable to change the code
in every part(where
I'm wondering why I'm seeing such a long deployment time with my project. 4
to 7 minutes is way longer than I am used to seeing with projects of similar
or larger size. My war file is about 15M - and it lives on a red hat
server. I'm at a loss about what I could be doing wrong. I'm even at a
loss to figure out what I could be doing different than normal. I'm just
putting a war into the webapps

Hi,
I'm trying to setup a simple 2-node tomcat cluster on Windows 7 RC.
Everything works fine exept local nodes dosen't connect to each other
and even dosen't find each other. Any external nodes can find and
share sessions with local. I try to follow some googled tips (even
turn off firewall) without any success. Any ideas? Am I missed
something?
Here is my server.xml and output:
