There is something wrong with the returned value of def dump_var(args,
variable, abi=None):
Replacing* return make_output.splitlines()[0]* by *return
make_output.replace('\n', ' ') *seems to fix the issue.

I've tried searching but couldn't find anything on this except for one
poster, but his device was rooted but mine isn't rooted. Is there a way to
use Tasker to wake my device (HTC One M7 on 4.4) when I press a volume
button instead? I don't want to root my phone to do this.
Please help. Thank you.

Hi,
i need to create a UDP server binding to one port.
Multiple clients (devices) will "connect" to this port and each device
"connection" has to be handled by its own actor (DeviceActor). DeviceActor
would be responsible for handling received messages, replaying to received
messages (acknowledgements) and pushing messages to devices (not related to
received messages). "Device connection
Hi All,
I've purchased Tasker as it seemed to be the only way I found to replicate
some functionality that I make heavy use of on the Blackberry platform (pre
v10).
I currently have Tasker installed on a Nexus 4 device and that's fine,
however, I'm in the process of moving to a different Android device that
does not support the Google app store (google play) so I'm wondering if
anyone
Hi All,
I am making an application which will be installed in rooted android
devices which will be installed at remote locations. The devices would be
connected to a charger all the time but there would be cases when the
electricity won't be there for long hours and the mobile device gets
discharged and it gets switched off.
Now, In general scenarios we have to Long Press the POWER ON
I added a run shell in my actions, and I tried to check "Use Root" box. But
it didn't let me check, instead I received this error: "Error: Your device
doesn't seem to be rooted." Then I googled it to error to find a solution,
and I find out that I need to convert supersu to superuser which I had no
idea what they were talking about? What is supersu, and what is superuser?
Anyway, then googled
Is there a way to get the mobile device name that tasker is running on?
Tasker can retrieve the device id, manufacture, product... but I can't find
the device name. Any ideas?
Cindy

Hi,
I want to connect my device with adb over wifi, but I cannot connect
through USB,
so I read, If *"/default.prop"* or maybe *"/system/build.prop"* are edited
to set *"service.adb.tcp.portU55"*... you are able to connect through adb.
Do you know if there is a way to edit those files without root permission?
or how to connect to adb over wifi, without USB cables?
Also, which VNC tool
Any way you can save email to the device from K9? Often need to keep emails on my device long after removed from server but don't want to have to change settings to NOT delete from inbox on device.

Dear all,
I can easily enough build "dex2oat" for the _host_ [ia32 executable], but I
can`t seem to figure out how to make AOSP build the "dex2oat" for the
_target_ device, e.g. a 32-bit ARM or AArch64 executable. I`ve already
checked on an Android 5.1-or-so device to see that there is such a thing,
and it seems that there _is_.
Please help.
Regards,
Abe

Hi,
If bluetooth device was connected before Tasker starts during phone boot (power on) then all profiles, based on detection of connection of this device does not trigger.
I need to disconnect the BT device and connect it again.
Is this normal behavious of Tasker, or this is something wrong with my phone? Other apps detects already connected Bluetooth devices during boot without problems (PhoneWeaver

Every day I have a certain amount of tasks that put my phone into silent
and turn on airplane mode, etc etc. Now that android pay requires a pin on
the device itself, I have to put one. The problem is that I can't run those
tasks when the first thing it hits on my device is the password/pin screen.
The issue is when I remove the pin using [Secure settings - configuration:

Hi everybody,
I need to start a task on android device from a PC. The simpliest solution
would be to send an http request (ot udp/tcp message) directly to tasker
android device but i can't find this kind of functionality.
I tested Autoremote but i'm not totaly happhy with it:
- Need internet access (I want to communicate only on my lan)
- Latency (2-3 secondes)
I tried to find
I have installed an instance of android-x86 from android-x86-4.4-r2.iso, tryed it in virtualbox and vmware player. I prefer vmware player because it correctly shows the mouse pointer while in virtualbox i have to estimate(guess) where the pointer is.
I do have one problem that i can't circumvent: the operating system sleeps when idle for some time and i can't recover from that, have to reboot.

I am building a dice game and would like to include functionality to play with friends remotely. Would need to send a 5-digit number to the app on another device for processing. App is still in development so not even ready to perform tests, just formulating a plan of attack.
Would rather avoid having to send the data via text message, if it can be avoided.
Does anyone know how (or if) I could
