Hi,
I'm running MySQL 5.0.27-standard-log on RHEL 4. After install, I moved the
data directory of MySQL. I updated everything that SELinux complained about,
etc., and have a functional install of MySQL. It's actually been up and
running with no issues for months. However, every time I run a mysqldump, I
get:
mysqldump: Got error: 1017: Can't find file: 'general_log' (errno: 2) when

I have backed up my data in server A and copied to /var/lib/mysql/my_db in
server B where my_db is the name of database. I can see my_db in left column
of phpMyAdmin 2.2.3 in my browser, but when I try to browse my data, I get
the error message " can't find file: ./my_db/my_table.frm (errno :13)."
What should I do to solve this problem?
thanks!

Hi,
I'm having some problems with starting Mysql and I hope someone could help
me..
I start safe_mysqld & and it says" Can't find file host.frm" I checked
my.cnf and the directory and it has host.frm. I deleted /var/lib/mysql/mysql
(datadir) and started mysql_install_db, but this didn't work out. Is there
someone out there who know what this can be ?

Hi
I am pretty new to the mysql thing so please bear with me.
I have recently taken over an existing site which has been
published and contains mysql database and PHP pages. I did not
code the site and I now have to analyse and develop & maintain it.
The problem is I can't find any MySql files (.frd/.myd/.myi) files in
the webspace! The site is functional
I get the following message:
$ mysqladmin -u root password 'newpassword'
mysqladmin: unable to change password; error: 'Can't find file: './mysql/user.fr
m' (errno: 13)'
I think I may have run scripts/mysql_install_db twice! (never work on a computer when you're half
asleep!) Could that be the cause of it?
thanks

When starting safe_mysqld mysqld shutsdown immediately with no error
message. However looking at /var/lib/mysql/matrix.err gives the following
error messages:-
mysqld started
/usr/libexec/mysqld: can't find file: './mysql/host.frm' errno: 13
mysqld ended
/var/lib/mysql/mysql/host.frm exists, and I've tried linking it to various
places, with no success.
Not sure, system is zipslack

I have a Win32 binary (.MSI) package of Apache 2.0.35 running on Win2k Pro. Yesterday, I did an upgrade (as opposed to clean) re-install of the Win2k OS, in an attempt to fix a non-related error (of which didn't get remedied, by the way).
Sometime after the OS re-install, I went to execute the apache -t command that checks the config file syntax, and gave me an error message that it couldn't find

using Distrib 5.0.45 on ubuntu 7.04, mysql was installed via adept manager.
I'm getting many error messages on the type:

The mysql database was installed automatically during installation, and
I'm getting them for ./mysql/time_zone_name.frm.

When I run the following query through Java code, it throws an
SQLException. I'm assuming it has something to do with the temporary
table created by the SQL statement. Any ideas?? The query works from the
control center. I have to do the query this way because MySql currently
doesn't support the "IN" clause.

Hi Janet,
Errno 13 means this process does not have permission to access this
file. I believe the safe_mysqld script tries to run the daemon as the
mysql user. If you have run mysql_install_db as root, your data/mysql/*
files are owned by root, belong to the 'root', and have rwx permissions
i.e
# ls -l host.frm
-rwx------ 1 root root 8958 Dec 4 08:18 host
