Hey,
this was due to a change in how we name artifacts in our build system. I've pushed a fix for it, and it should be built in a few hours.

I just tried the community edition 1.7 snapshot and still receive an error "StartService FAILED 1053"

Could you please raise a bug? We will do QA for 1.7.M01 very soon and don't want to miss it. Also, will try to get time today to recreate it with a play windows computer at work.

In Fact, the snapshop has an different name.
You have to edit manually the base.bat in order to set the correct name of the JAR file and then start again the neo4j.bat and it will work.

I had a same problem and at first couldn't figure out what could be wrong as the database worked perfectly on one machine and didn't work on the other with the same OS. On working machine the neo4j folder was stored in the root directory and on the other it was stored in some subfolder (C:Projects......Programlib
eo4j-community-1.8). Then I tried to copy the neo4j folder to C: (C:
eo4j-community-1.8) and tried to run neo4j.bat and this time it worked perfectly.
I haven't checked the source code yet but I guess the path string in the program is limited and if your folder structure string exceeds the limit the neo4j.bat won't work.

I've run tomcat so many times before on every one of my computers with no problem, but I just went to do it today on my desktop and am getting an error immediately on the start of the server. I have set catalina_home, classpath, java_home, jre_home, added jdk to path. I have tried many different versions of tomcat and all give the same problem. Any ideas? latest svn code build failed on 64 bit Redhat enterprise ES release 4. kernal 2.6.9, gcc 3.4.5. when running "ant" in the log4cxx source root directory. i suppose this is a ant build.xml problem, because i was able to go into log4cxx/lib/apr1.2.2 then log4cxx/lib/aprutil-1.2.2 to run ./configure, make, make install. however, i don't know what to do after that. please advice. thank you. jack. ps
