All,
Apache Hadoop 2.0.4-alpha is now available.
This is a bug-fix release which fixed a number of integration issues that were uncovered
with hadoop-2.0.3-alpha.
Please see release notes for details.
Also, this is most likely the last of the hadoop-2.x alpha releases. The Hadoop community
is gearing up for a final stabilization push of hadoop-2.x and should release a final hadoop-2.0.5-beta
Hi!
Thanks to the tireless work of the Bigtop and Hadoop committers
we've made quite a bit of progress on 2.0.4-alpha. The build
pipeline that we've setup seems to be rather nice (and perhaps
could be utilized for all future releases of Hadoop). The first
stage of the pipeline is available here:
https://builds.apache.org/view/Hadoop/job/Hadoop-branch-2.0.4/
and the second one over here:

I'm going to try to do bug fix releases frequently as long as there
are major bugs for 1.9.x that I can fix. Having made the 1.9
release branch in cvs, this is fairly easy to do. If anyone fixes a
bug from 1.9, please make the fix in both the main branch and in
the v1_9_branch release branch. I'll try to make the releases on
the weekends.
Right now, there's a new 1.9.1 release out which fixes

All,
I'm very pleased to announce that the Apache Hadoop community has released hadoop-2.0.3-alpha!

# Significant stability at scale for YARN (over 30,000 nodes and 14 million
Hi,
we have a problem we can't solve yet with Subversion.
In our process, we create a branch of a version that is going to be
released. Then we release from that branch and create a tag for each
released version.
The problem lies in the bug fix of this released version. We have to
apply manually the fix to the branch, release a new tag, and then report
the same modification to the trunk.
